Night & Day Furniture, distributed by Diamond Distribution out of Rockville, Maryland, is one of the five primary US cabinet bed manufacturers. Within the category, Night & Day’s distinguishing feature is the breadth of its mattress options — the company offers cabinet beds with both a standard tri-fold mattress and a premium pocket-coil mattress upgrade, and also operates a separate “Murphy Express” line in a different form factor (twin, full, queen) for buyers who want the foldout function without the cabinet body. Night & Day’s seven core cabinet bed models cover a wide price band from $1,299 to $1,487 wholesale, making the line one of the more flexible cost-and-quality range in the category.

Cabinet bed lineup

Night & Day’s queen-size cabinet bed line includes seven distinct models, all sharing roughly the same physical cabinet form (approximately 63.5 inches wide × 24 inches deep × 41 inches tall when closed) with different finish and styling variations.

Model Style direction
Clover Cottage clean
Daisy Lighter / brighter cottage variation
Sagebrush Stonewash, chocolate
Olympia Classical / refined
Poppy Mid-tone transitional
Ranchero Western / utility
Louvre Refined / paneled

Cabinet weights range 222–288 lbs depending on model. Deployed bed length follows standard queen dimensions.

Murphy Express line

Separately from the main cabinet bed line, Night & Day produces a “Murphy Express” product in twin, full, and queen sizes. This is a different form factor — a more traditional fold-out without the full cabinet body that defines the rest of the cabinet bed category. For buyers specifically wanting the fold-out function in a smaller footprint (or smaller bed size) without the chest-style cabinet, Murphy Express is worth knowing about.

Mattress options

Night & Day cabinets are typically sold either:

  • Cabinet-only, with the customer providing a compatible mattress
  • “Complete” bundle, including a standard tri-fold mattress
  • Pocket-coil upgrade — Night & Day’s premium mattress option, which offers better support and durability than tri-fold foam at a modest additional cost

The pocket-coil upgrade is one of the more interesting offerings in the category — most other manufacturers either include a basic foam mattress or sell separately. Night & Day’s middle-tier coil option fills a gap.

Who Night & Day cabinet beds suit best

  • Shoppers who care about mattress quality but don’t want to source separately — the pocket-coil upgrade is the best in-cabinet mattress option in the category
  • Buyers seeking flexibility in finish and style — the seven models cover cottage, transitional, contemporary, and Western looks
  • Vacation rental owners considering durability — the pocket-coil option holds up better in high-cycle rental use than budget foam
  • Buyers wanting smaller-than-queen options — the Murphy Express line offers twin and full sizes the rest of the category doesn’t

Considerations

  • MAP policy not in the published price list. Pricing flexibility across dealers may exist; confirm with the specific dealer how they handle pricing.
  • No matching bedroom collection. Unlike Lineage, Night & Day doesn’t produce coordinated bedroom case goods in matching finishes. Pair with other manufacturers’ pieces or accept a non-matched look.
  • Mattress is sold separately by default. Plan budget accordingly — Complete bundles add roughly $265 for tri-fold or $318 for pocket-coil.
  • Freight from Rockville, MD. Expect $100–$250 in freight for typical destinations; freight cost is comparable to Arason for most addresses.

Where to buy Night & Day cabinet beds

Night & Day sells through Diamond Distribution’s dealer network — primarily independent furniture, mattress, and specialty retailers. The company is more commonly stocked by smaller and mid-size regional dealers than by national chains.

Questions to ask any dealer carrying Night & Day

  1. “Is this Clover, Daisy, Sagebrush, or which specific Night & Day model?”
  2. “Is the cabinet sold as ‘Complete’ with a mattress, or cabinet-only?”
  3. “If complete, is it the standard tri-fold mattress or the pocket-coil upgrade? What’s the price difference?”
  4. “Is the pocket-coil mattress upgrade available even if the bundled offering shows tri-fold by default?”
  5. “What’s your warranty handling — do you process Night & Day claims directly, or route through Diamond Distribution?”
