HOW IT WORKS

How Cabinet Bed Authority works.

What this site is, how we evaluate products, what we have and haven't verified, and how to flag something we got wrong.

Cabinet beds are heavy, expensive, and confusing to shop for. We are building this site to help. Here is exactly how it works — without the marketing-speak.

  1. 01.

    WHY

    Why this site exists

Most cabinet bed information online is written by people who have never sold one, opened one, or delivered one. We are building Cabinet Bed Authority from real furniture retail experience. The goal is to help shoppers, dealers, and manufacturers all get to better outcomes — without the marketing fluff.

  2. 02.

    WHAT

    What cabinet beds are

A cabinet bed is a freestanding piece of furniture that folds open into a real bed. Same idea as a Murphy bed, but without the wall mounting. People also call them sleep chests, chest beds, or freestanding Murphy beds. They are typically used as guest beds in home offices, dens, condos, and vacation rentals.

  3. 03.

    METHODOLOGY

    How we evaluate products

We evaluate cabinet beds across eight criteria: ease of opening, mattress comfort, cabinet construction, open and closed dimensions, delivery difficulty, local service availability, in-person availability, and real customer feedback. The full methodology is on How we evaluate cabinet beds.

  4. 04.

    TESTING

    What we have personally tested

We mark every product, claim, or dealer recommendation with one of these labels: Seen in person, Sold by our team, Customer feedback received, Dealer-reported, Manufacturer information only, or Not yet independently verified. When something has not been verified, we say so.

  5. 05.

    UNVERIFIED

What we have not verified yet

We are early. We have not personally tested every cabinet bed sold in the United States. We have not visited every dealer. We rely on manufacturer information and dealer-reported facts where we do not have firsthand experience, and we mark those clearly. If you have firsthand experience to add, email us.

  6. 06.

    REPORTING

    How to report an issue

If something on this site is wrong, or a recommendation looks paid-for, email content@cabinetbedauthority.com. We look at every report and publish corrections.

  7. 07.

    TO SHOPPERS

    Our promise to shoppers

We will tell you when a cabinet bed is not the right answer for your situation. We will not bury limitations. We will not recommend a dealer who has failed a customer. We will disclose every money relationship that could affect what we say.

REPORT AN ISSUE

If something on this site is wrong, tell us.

Corrections, dealer complaints, or facts we got wrong — email content@cabinetbedauthority.com. We will look at every report.
