Cabinet Bed Authority occasionally publishes content sponsored by a third party — a manufacturer, a service provider in the category, or a related business. This policy explains what we will and won’t accept and how sponsorship is disclosed.

1. What sponsored content is

“Sponsored content” means an article, page, video, podcast, social post, or email that includes content where a third party paid Cabinet Bed Authority — directly or indirectly — for the placement.

This is distinct from:

  • Affiliate links. Outbound product links where we earn a small commission on a sale completed by a third-party retailer. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
  • Featured dealer placements. Enhanced placement in Cabinet Bed Finder for dealers paying a premium subscription tier. Labeled “Featured” inline.
  • Editorial coverage. Content written by Cabinet Bed Authority without any sponsor relationship.

2. What we accept

We accept sponsorship for:

  • Manufacturer educational pages — for example, a manufacturer paying to have a deeper-than-default educational article about their product category or specific model lineup. Must remain factually accurate and balanced.
  • Service provider features — for example, a delivery service, a mattress brand, or a furniture-financing provider paying to be profiled alongside a cabinet bed purchase guide.
  • Newsletter sponsorships — a single sponsored slot per newsletter issue, clearly labeled.
  • Trade-event coverage — when CBA covers an industry event sponsored by participants, sponsorship of the coverage itself is acceptable.

3. What we don’t accept

We will not accept sponsorship to:

  • Bury negative information about a sponsor’s product, service, dealer, or company
  • Misrepresent product specifications, warranty terms, pricing, or availability
  • Endorse a specific manufacturer or dealer as “the best” in unsponsored editorial coverage
  • Disparage a competitor of the sponsor
  • Manipulate Cabinet Bed Finder routing to favor a sponsor’s dealers over higher-scoring non-sponsor dealers (routing logic is not for sale)
  • Pretend sponsored content is editorial
  • Allow a sponsor to dictate editorial conclusions in unsponsored content
  • Sell endorsements of products or dealers
  • Place a sponsor’s content in a manufacturer profile of a competitor (sponsor of brand A cannot pay to influence the editorial profile of brand B)

If a sponsor asks for any of the above, we will decline and the project does not proceed.

4. Disclosure requirements

Every sponsored piece carries all of the following:

4.1 Inline “Sponsored” label

The label appears clearly at the top of the page or post, before the content. The label is not buried in fine print and is the same font weight and size as the page title’s secondary text.

4.2 Sponsor identification

The sponsor’s name is clearly identified at the top of the content.

4.3 Editorial commentary

Every sponsored piece includes a clearly-marked editorial note from Cabinet Bed Authority — either a brief introduction or a closing summary — that puts the sponsored content in context. The editorial commentary is from us, not the sponsor, and is not paid content.

4.4 URL convention

Sponsored content URLs include /sponsored/ in the path (e.g., /sponsored/manufacturer-x-product-launch/) so shoppers and search engines can easily identify the content category.

4.5 FTC compliance

All disclosures comply with FTC 16 CFR Part 255 (Endorsement Guides) and applicable state and platform requirements.

5. Editorial standards for sponsored content

Even sponsored content must meet our standards:

  • Factually accurate. Every claim must be sourceable or grounded in verifiable industry data.
  • No fabricated specifications, prices, or warranty terms.
  • No invented testimonials.
  • No false implications of authorization (e.g., a sponsor cannot imply Cabinet Bed Authority “endorses” or “recommends” them if we don’t, in editorial content).
  • No claims of dealer partnership that don’t exist.
  • Compliant with manufacturer MAP policies where applicable.

Sponsored content is reviewed by Cabinet Bed Authority before publication. We may request edits, decline publication if standards aren’t met, or include corrective editorial commentary.

6. Sponsor relationship pricing

Sponsored content pricing is published in our media kit (available on request). Sponsorship terms include:

  • A signed sponsorship agreement separate from any dealer or other agreement
  • Payment in advance via Shopify Payments (or other Cabinet Bed Authority payment processor)
  • Clear scope of work (which page, what duration, what disclosures)
  • Cabinet Bed Authority editorial review and approval before publication
  • Cabinet Bed Authority’s right to remove or modify the content if standards are breached after publication

7. Rejection rights

Cabinet Bed Authority reserves the right to decline any sponsorship request for any reason, without explanation. We will not publish sponsored content if:

  • The sponsor’s product or service materially harms consumers
  • The sponsor is in active litigation with us or a Network dealer
  • The sponsor has a documented history of misleading consumers
  • The sponsorship request requires conduct that violates this policy
  • The sponsorship would damage Cabinet Bed Authority’s brand or relationships

8. How this policy relates to our independence

We publish this policy publicly because shoppers deserve to know what sponsored content looks like at Cabinet Bed Authority and what it doesn’t. Our role as a neutral national guide depends on the line between editorial content and sponsored content being clear and enforced.

If you ever see content that looks sponsored but isn’t labeled, or that looks editorial but appears to favor a specific sponsor inappropriately, please tell us at content@cabinetbedauthority.com. We will investigate and correct.
