The short version

A full-size cabinet bed fits a 54 × 75-inch (6-inch) mattress and ships in a narrower ~60-inch crate — which is the whole reason to choose one: it clears tight rooms and doorways a queen can’t, while still sleeping one adult comfortably (or two in a pinch). Expect $1,000–$2,500 retail. If your room or delivery path can take a queen, take the queen for guest comfort; choose a full when space or a 28–30-inch doorway forces it.

Full vs queen — the decision

Full Queen
Mattress 54 × 75 in 60 × 80 in
Crate width (delivery) ~60 in ~78–80 in
Best for tight rooms / narrow doorways / solo guests adult-guest comfort, the default
Price $1,000–$2,500 $1,500–$3,500

Choose full when: a pre-1960 home with 28–30-inch doorways, a tight condo/landing, or a small room can’t take a queen’s crate or ~80-inch deploy zone. Measure first — How to Measure for a Cabinet Bed.

Who makes full-size cabinet beds

Most cabinet beds are queens; full sizes are less common. Night & Day’s Murphy Express line is the most reliable source of sub-queen sizes (twin and full). Confirm availability with a dealer — see the Manufacturer Census.

Will a full fit / sleep your guest?

  • Solo adult guests: comfortable.
  • Two adults occasionally: workable, snugger than a queen.
  • Clearance: still needs ~75 inches of deploy length in front plus cabinet depth — measure the room, not just the doorway.

Common questions

Do cabinet beds come in full size?

Yes, though they’re less common than queens. Night & Day’s Murphy Express line is the main source of full (and twin) sizes.

When should I choose a full over a queen cabinet bed?

When your room or delivery path is tight — a full’s ~60-inch crate clears doorways a queen’s ~78–80-inch crate can’t.

How much does a full cabinet bed cost?

$1,000–$2,500 retail. See the Price Index.

Is a full cabinet bed comfortable for two adults?

Workable occasionally, but snugger than a queen. For regular two-adult use, choose queen if space allows.
