An independent, plain-English buyer's guide. We don't manufacture or sell this cabinet bed — we explain what it is, who it suits, and what to check before you buy.

The Savannah Monaco White is a queen-size freestanding cabinet bed built on the Alexander & Sheridan "Belize" platform in a clean Monaco White finish. (The same cabinet may appear under different names at different retailers — "Savannah" is one retail name for the A&S Belize.) It's a console-style cabinet that opens into a real bed with a real mattress in about a minute, then folds back into furniture when guests leave. Because it's freestanding, there's no wall mounting, no studs, and no contractor — it moves like ordinary furniture.

Alexander & Sheridan ships from Sanford, Florida, and the Belize ships with a 6-inch tri-fold memory-foam mattress included by default. The closed cabinet runs roughly 64 inches wide × 25 inches deep × 40 inches tall. New to the category? Start here: What is a cabinet bed?

Who the Savannah Monaco White may be right for

  • You want a bright, clean white piece that brightens a guest room or den.
  • You like the idea of the mattress being included and handled in one purchase.
  • You want furniture-grade looks when closed and a real queen bed when needed.
  • You'd rather avoid a wall-mounted Murphy bed and its installation.

Who should think twice

  • You need a bed for nightly use — these mattresses are built for occasional guests.
  • Your room can't surrender the open floor footprint a deployed queen requires.
  • You're worried about a white finish showing scuffs in a high-traffic spot — ask about touch-up and care.
  • You prefer a warmer wood tone — consider the Antigua Coffee instead.

Room and use case

The Savannah suits light, airy rooms — coastal-style guest rooms, bright home offices, and spaces where a crisp white piece reads as intentional rather than utilitarian. Plan for the full deployed length and floor clearance, not just the closed cabinet against the wall. White finishes tend to make a room feel larger, which can help in a smaller guest room.

Finish and style notes

Monaco White is a smooth, bright painted white (no rattan inlay on this model). It's a versatile, neutral face that works with most palettes. As with any white finish, plan to wipe it occasionally and ask the seller about recommended cleaning and whether touch-up is available, since scuffs show more on light surfaces.

What to measure first

  • Open bed length and the floor clearance the deployed queen needs.
  • Closed cabinet footprint (width × depth × height) — roughly 64 × 25 × 40 inches for this line.
  • The full delivery path: doorway widths, hallway turns, and stair clearances.

What we'd point out if you were standing in front of it

  • The bright Monaco White keeps the piece from feeling heavy — closed, it reads as a clean console, not a bulky cabinet.
  • White tends to make a smaller guest room feel larger, which is part of why people choose it.
  • One person can open and close it; it isn't a wrestling match.
  • On a light finish, everyday scuffs show a little more — worth a quick question about touch-up if it lives in a busy room.

What to expect on comfort

The included mattress is a 6-inch tri-fold memory foam, designed for occasional guests rather than nightly sleeping. Comfort depends on mattress depth and how the platform supports it. If guests will stay often or for long stretches, talk that through before you decide — a consult can map the options.

Delivery and setup questions to ask

  • What's included (mattress, drawer, USB/ports) and what's separate?
  • Is this curbside, threshold, or white-glove delivery — and what does each cost in effort and money?
  • Will it clear my doorway, hallway, and any stairs on the way to the room?
  • How heavy is the assembled cabinet, and can one person open and close it comfortably?

Warranty and support questions to ask

  • Who stands behind the folding mechanism, and for how long?
  • Who services it if it needs adjustment later, and is that local or shipped?
  • Is the mattress covered separately from the cabinet?

Questions to ask before buying

  • Is the mattress included, and is a cabinet-only credit available if I want a different one?
  • Does the quote include any manufacturer surcharge, or is that added later?
  • Is this the Monaco White finish specifically, or a different white under the same retail name?
  • What's the realistic delivery timeline and the return policy if it doesn't fit the room?

Not sure it's the right model?

Before you decide, it helps to talk it through — room fit, comfort, delivery, and whether the Savannah (or a cabinet bed at all) is the right call for your space. That's exactly what the consult is for. Talk to a cabinet-bed expert →
